Where To Edit Homepage Tiles

The tiles are found on the homepage of the site. To edit them from the WordPress Admin, click Pages in the menu on the left-hand side, and then click Homepage. Scroll to the Tiles section.

How The Tiles Are Ordered

On the front-end, the tiles are organized into a maximum of three rows. Each row consists of three columns. These columns can hold varying combinations of tiles. For example, a row can contain three tiles where each tile spans one column. Alternatively, a row can contain two tiles where one tile spans two columns and the other tile spans one column. Finally, a row can contain one tile that spans three columns.

On the back-end, the tiles display one after another. The first tile listed will display on the front-end in the first row, on the left side. The tile below that one will display to the right of the first tile on the front-end. Each tile contains a Span category, which has either 1 column, 2 column, and/or 3 column radio buttons. This shows how many columns that particular tile will span in a row. Each row only has a maximum of three columns of space, so if a tile is added that does not fit into this limit, the layout will not display properly on the front-end.

For example, if I have a two-column tile as my first tile (i.e. the tile spans 2 columns, as shown by the radio button selected), then the next tile can only span one column in order to fit into that row. Or, say the first tile spans one column, then the second tile could span one column, and the third tile could also span one column.

Then, once the first row is filled up, the tiles listed afterwards build out the second row and then the third row.

Tile Terms Explained

Tiles share certain vocabulary that it is important to understand. This section describes what those terms mean. For more information about specific tiles and their sections, refer to that documentation.

Span: Describes how many columns a tile will span across a row.

Slug: The text that appears above each tile. Different tile types handle slugs differently. See documentation related to that specific tile type for more detailed information.
